When I was a child, Sundays had a ritual I loved so much:
my dad would take out a record, place it on the turntable, and say something like, “Let’s listen to this one.” It was just the two of us, with the music filling the room (we were the only two in the family truly obsessed with music), and Francesco De Gregori was often part of that soundtrack.
Many years have passed, and I still remember that feeling: the quiet house, the slow rhythm of the day, my mum’s voice chatting with my sister in the other room… the gentle soundtrack of ordinary life.
Fast forward to now: at Fabrique, decades later, I suddenly found myself back in those childhood years, somewhere between nostalgia and the thrill of the present, thinking that maybe that’s exactly what good music does.
So yes, Francesco De Gregori’s concert was beautiful. But more than that, it felt like opening an old vinyl record and hearing, beneath the music, the soft echo of a Sunday morning, realizing that the sound of home and family never really left.
